Russ Roberts at Econ Talk just interviewed Tyler Cowen. This is a mostly non-financial episode of a great economics podcast. I was sold by the introduction’s comparison of autistics with bloggers.
Last week’s episode was about cultural norms. It featured different German, Japanese, and Connecticutian ways to cross the street, stand in line at the grocery store, and teach a class. They called people who don’t follow the grey areas of culture sociopaths, haha. In economic terms, these people trade short-term gains (getting to the front of the line) for long-term losses (getting a reputation as a jerk).
