My favorite bar in Osaka has to be Chicaichi, this tiny basement joint near Namba Bears (the tiny basement club run by The Boredoms’ Seiichi Yamamoto). It is a real dream: dark and cozy, the owner is real nice, and the walls are lined with new and vintage toys, manga, board and card games, and video games. There’s a small TV with a nintendo, a guitar, and a movie projector. The best part, though, is that everything (drinks and food) is 200 yen!! (It’s usually hard to find a beer for less than 500)
On Saturday night I met Sayaka and Sarah and Viki there and the most beautiful anime was playing on the projector. It was about these two kittens on a train, looking at the galaxy passing by, talking to other visitors, and stopping briefly outside. Unfortunately the sound was off but it was lovely to look at.

When we left, Saya asked him for the title of the anime. Ginga-tetsudo no Yoru (Night on the Galactic Railroad). Today I finally looked it up and it seems to have a good reputation. I have to see this anime! Here is the Japanese trailer:
I’m in heaven!
